Before I tell you about the SEO strategy that worked for me, let me  tell you something. When I started blogging 7 months ago, I was nowhere. I was working my fingers to the bone but making no headway. Then things started happening. Other bloggers  helped me a lot. But SEO is something that you should learn by yourself. If you ask people, they come up with different strategies to work with in order to improve the SEO of your blog. I would like to share with you 5 simple but effective strategies that helped with SEO. They worked for me; so do they for you! Here they are:

Pick an interesting and amusing title for your post

When you buy a book, you look at the title of the book first and then the author or vice versa. If that title impresses or has something interesting or amusing, you will buy it without any hesitation. The same is applicable to blog posts. If your blog title is interesting, people may proceed to read the post. A dull title does no favour to your extraordinarily written post. Hence, do spend sometime in picking the best title for your post.

Do some keyword research

You may be wondering why I put this keyword research as a second rule here. This can be your first step. Either way works. If you spend some time to find as to which key words people use while they search for the content, you can get the right key word to put in your title.

Grammar and style

Language plays an important role. There are agreed opinions that Google penalises sites with grammar errors and badly fragmented sentences. Therefore, you need to improve your standard in this area. If you are a native speaker, there should not be any problem. Otherwise, it is something that you should concentrate on.

When it comes to writing style, you need to have a unique style that makes you stand out among others. It’s true that, most of the time, we write about something we have researched into. When we do that, we should follow our unique style of writing.

Readability

 

Readers find it difficult to grasp the meaning quickly if the sentences in your post are complex and lengthy. Always use short sentences and simple language to convey what you want to say. Another important thing is to divide the content into paragraphs.

Tagging images

You usually insert a few relevant images into your post. Sometimes a lot of them. If so, adding Alt Text to those images will be a lot useful in terms of SEO. They bring a good lot of visitors to your blog through images search.

Miscellaneous

Apart from what I have mentioned, there are many other things that are to be considered while working with SEO. They are like: H1, H2 tags, meta description, etc. But the 5 strategies I have mentioned are the ones that worked for me.
